College isn't cheap, and therefore students must think of how much colleges cost and how they are going to pay them back. Look at the tuition cost, the books, the dorms, etc when applying for a college and figure out how much it all costs.

The acceptance rate of colleges displays what percentage of students, who applied, have been accepted. A good example would be that a college accepted only 40% out of the 500 students who have applied. It does not determine your chances of getting accepted, only the percentage of students getting accepted.
